The Atlantic CYAC Network hosted a conference for multidisciplinary partners in October 2025. Professionals from child safety, law enforcement, prosecution, victim services, health, and mental health gathered in Saint John, NB, to spark discussion, collaboration, and learning.
Highlights included:
- The role of client-focused environments and continuity of supports in shaping a child/youth’s experience of the response to concerns of violence/abuse
- The impacts of ensuring children and youth have the time and space they need to feel comfortable throughout the processes of investigation and response
- Promising practices in multidisciplinary triage, remote testimony, and use of testimonial aids at CYACs
- An incredible panel of youth, who reflected on their experiences with meaningful insight and advice for professionals
