The Atlantic Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) Network is a collaboration of established and emerging Child and Youth Advocacy Centres (CYACs) across Atlantic Canada. Together, we support the important work of CYACs as they serve children and youth who have experienced abuse, and their families.
We connect CYACs across Atlantic Canada, fostering strong relationships to enhance the capacity and growth of CYACs in our region.
We create opportunities for CYACs and their multidisciplinary partners to share knowledge, resources, and information to support and enhance the important work of CYACs.
We build capacity across the Atlantic region in the use of evidence-based, client-focused, and trauma-informed responses to child abuse.
Our History
The Atlantic CYAC Network began in 2018, starting as a small gathering of a few established and developing CYACs interested in building connections and capacity across the Atlantic region. Since then, the Network has grown to five member CYACs that are either open or in development across the region. In addition to building connections among CYACs, the Network also promotes knowledge sharing and learning opportunities with our multidisciplinary partners across the Atlantic region. Together, we are strengthening our communities’ responses for children, youth, and families.
Our Context
With over 40 CYACs open or in development across Canada, the Atlantic CYAC Network is now one of many regional and provincial CYAC Networks in the country.
